The Historic Ohio Theatre is a rental only space. We are a presenting house, not a producing house. We rent the space only and the renter is responsible for producing their event including ticketing, marketing, staffing, sponsors, and anything else they may need. The basic rental does require 2 parking attendants. We can help arrange other staff (see pricing on Rental Rates chart on the Rent the Ohio Theatre page here). These additional staff requests need to be made at least 2 weeks prior to the event, or preferably at the time of reserving the rental, so we can arrange appropriate personnel.
Do you do ticketing/box office? We do not set up nor manage ticketing for your events. If you need help, we would suggest using Booktix. They can help you get set up to sell tickets online. They charge a fee per ticket (which you can pass on to the consumer or include in the ticket price). https://www.booktix.com/how-it-works
We can arrange staff for your box office the day of the event (see pricing on Rental Rates chart on the Rent the Ohio Theatre page here). That is not to set up your ticket sales, but to only sell tickets at the door or manage entry (IE: pickup will call tickets). Staff requests need to be made at least 2 weeks prior to the event so we can arrange appropriate personnel.
*Please note that your organization needs to arrange the method(s) of payment for ticket sales. For legal accounting practices, The Ohio Theatre cannot provide credit card machines or online payments. If your organization does not have a credit card machine or online payment system, then our staff would only be able to accept cash for any sales at the door.
Are there any credit card charges or other additional charges per ticket? The Ohio Theatre does not manage ticketing for your event, so we do not charge any fees.
Do you manage VIPs or Meet & Greets? No, we do not manage your ticketing and sales nor Meet and Greets. We can provide basic staffing (see pricing on Rental Rates chart on the Rent the Ohio Theatre page here) if you need unskilled labor to assist you. But arranging VIP experiences or Meet & Greets would be your responsibility.
Are there any additional facility fees? No. All fees are spelled out on your contract and invoice. There are no further charges as long as you return the theatre in the condition you rented it and stick to the hours you specified. If you are not out of the space on time, there may be additional charges per hour over the agreement. Also the renter is responsible for any damages that occur during your rental.
What’s your cleaning schedule or requirements for renters? – the theatre will be cleaned before and after your rental period. We do ask that you leave the space in the condition you received it in, but we will take care of trash in trash cans, basic cleaning, and sweeping/vacuuming . If you would like the space cleaned during your rental period we charge a flat rate of $90. Extra cleaning needs to be scheduled with the theatre manager and is subject to staff availability.
Do you provide theatre staffing? We can arrange staff for your event. We can arrange staff for concessions, box office, ushers, and other hourly positions (see pricing on Rental Rates chart on the Rent the Ohio Theatre page here). For lighting, sound, or other onstage/backstage help, you would need to arrange with the theatre manager to provide an estimate based on your needs. Individual staffing requests must be made to the theatre manager at least 2 weeks prior to the event. Onstage/backstage or other technical theatre requests and staffing must be arranged when reserving the theatre rental..
Are there additional charges for parking? No. We have multiple available parking lots (see the visit webpage for locations). There is no charge to park in any of those lots. Any other parking would be at your own expense and risk.
Can we use your sound and light system? We do have an in-house system. If you want us to design sound and lighting for your event, then you would need an estimate from the theatre manager at the time you reserve the theatre. Sound board: Behringer X32 Digital Mixing Console. Light Board: ETC ION lighting control console with sub-master wing.
Do you have spotlights? Yes. Our lighting system includes two Lycium Midget HP Followspots available for use to spotlight the stage. If they will need to be moved during your event, we can arrange for spotlight operators, please request this with the theatre manager when reserving the theatre rental or at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
Do you have a video projector – yes, that is included in the rental package.

Can I rent the theatre for a movie screening? Yes. The Ohio Theatre was previously used as a full time movie theater. It has a Day-Lite Motorized Projection Screen which is 30’ wide x 20’ tall with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The regular rental fees apply plus there may be additional fees for licensing/royalties depending on the movie.
Any additional house expenses – no additional fees as long as you leave the theatre in the same condition you received it.
Do you serve beer/wine/liquor? Yes. The Ohio Theatre has a liquor license. We can serve alcohol on premises. Please request alcohol and/or bar service with the theatre manager when reserving the theatre rental or at least 2 weeks prior to the event.
